PC Tech Guru uses personal information where it is necessary to respond to your enquiry, provide a service, manage a booking, deliver a website project, provide website care, keep records, or meet legal responsibilities.

The lawful basis may include contract, legitimate interests, consent where relevant, or legal obligation depending on the situation.

Where optional marketing, analytics, Meta Pixel, tracking cookies or similar non-essential website tools are used, consent may be required depending on the tool and setup.

5. Who We Share Data With

Your information may be processed using trusted third-party services required to operate the business, provide support, or deliver website projects, such as:

  • Booking systems such as Calendly.
  • Payment providers such as Stripe or card payment services.

6. How Long We Keep Data

Enquiry, booking, service and website project information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for customer service, records, aftercare, website care, tax/accounting, dispute handling or legal reasons.

Messages that are no longer needed may be deleted. Some financial, appointment, project or support records may need to be kept for longer where required for accounting, legal, warranty, aftercare or dispute purposes.

Website files, project notes and support details may be retained where needed to maintain, update or support a website, especially where an active monthly care plan or aftercare period is in place.

7. Security

Reasonable steps are taken to protect customer information, including using secure third-party services and limiting access to information where practical.

No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, but PC Tech Guru aims to handle customer details responsibly and only use them for appropriate business purposes.

8. Cookies and Website Tools

The PC Tech Guru website may use cookies, tracking pixels or third-party embedded tools, including booking forms, maps, analytics, payment links, Meta Pixel, Google Analytics or embedded services.

Some cookies are necessary for website or booking functions. Other cookies, pixels or tracking tools may be set by third-party embedded services such as Google, Meta, Calendly, Cloudflare, maps, payment providers or other connected tools.

These tools may help measure website visits, page views, form submissions, phone clicks, email clicks, WhatsApp clicks, booking clicks, payment clicks and other useful actions.

If PC Tech Guru sets up analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising tools, booking tools, payment tools or similar third-party services on a client website, the client is responsible for making sure their own privacy policy, cookie wording and consent setup are suitable for their business.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Where a cookie banner or consent tool is used, you can also use the options provided on the website.

9. AI Assistant & Enquiries

The PC Tech Guru website may include an AI assistant to help visitors find general guidance about PC repairs, laptop issues, WiFi support, upgrades, website creation and related technology questions.

If you use the AI assistant, the question or issue you type may be processed through a secure Cloudflare Worker and sent to OpenAI so a response can be generated. The assistant is intended to provide general guidance only and may make mistakes.

The AI assistant cannot guarantee the exact fault, repair cost, part compatibility, availability, data recovery result, website ranking or final outcome. A final diagnosis can only be confirmed after the device, setup or project requirement has been checked.

If you choose to send an enquiry from the AI assistant, PC Tech Guru may collect and receive the details you provide, including your name, email address or phone number, postcode or area, original question, assistant response, enquiry category, safety flag and page source.

AI assistant enquiries may be sent to PC Tech Guru by email using Resend. Cloudflare may process technical request information to run the Worker, apply rate limits and help protect the assistant from misuse.

Do not enter passwords, payment card details, private account credentials, bank details or highly sensitive personal information into the AI assistant.

10. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or to withdraw consent where consent is being used.

You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how your information is handled.
